Okay, you will think I'm lying, but I dated a professional model for seven years. She was at a major agency in NYC (NEXT). All her friends were either photographers, makeupartists, stylists or other models. When her career wound down, she became a makeup artist. So yes, I know the industry pretty well. She dumped me, if that makes you feel any better.
Modeling is not a viable business for most people, but more like a "tournament" where the gifted reap most of the benefits
